Caerphilly Castle was the venue for National Poetry Day fun when former Children's Laureate, Michael Rosen took over the Great Hall last Thursday (8th October) at an event organised by Caerphilly County Borough Council's Library Service.
The animated author entertained 300 Year 6 pupils from six local primary schools when he regaled them with side-splitting anecdotes that were the source of his poems.
Michael also recited a number of poems encouraging his audience to join in with enthusiasm and hilarious results.
The day was a wonderful opportunity for Caerphilly's children to have a highly acclaimed poet entertain them on Poetry Day.
Throughout the day, Michael, whose books include 'Mind your own Business' and 'Wouldn't you like to Know', summed up each show by answering questions from his young audience before concluding with a very popular book signing.
