Residents throughout Conwy and Denbighshire are being urged to join the fight against dog fouling with free bags for owners.
The bags are being funded by the Community Safety Partnership and will he handed out free tomorrow at locations across Conwy and Denbighshire.
Inspector Jonny Hill from the Community Safety Partnership said: “Whilst the majority of dog owners are responsible, a careless few are still allowing their pets to foul, and each year thousands of complaints are received by local authorities.
“Littering our parks, pavements and public spaces - dog fouling is a problem which the Partnership is determined to tackle.”
PCSO’s and Dog Wardens can issue a £75 Fixed Penalty Notice to those who fail to clean up after their dog, and since April 1 this year, 45 tickets have been issued across both counties.
Inspector Hill added: “The Partnership are responding to continued concerns from local residents regarding the amount of dog faeces that owners fail to pick up. We have now purchased a number of dispensers with re-fillable rolls of dog-mess bags.
To meet your local officers and collect your free dispenser and 80 bags, you'll need to go to these places during these one-hour slots.
