North Wales Police are appealing for witnesses and information following the theft of a flat screen television from a supermarket in Wrexham.
At approx. 15:20hrs on Friday, 28th August a security guard at the Tesco store attempted to stop a man from stealing the television.
As he tried to do this the offender threatened him with an unsheathed needle.
The offender then ran from the store towards the Queensway area.
The security guard was left shocked but uninjured by the incident.
The offender is described as being between 5ft 9 and 5ft 10 inches tall and had black hair. He was wearing a grey GAP T-shirt, dark navy blue tracksuit bottoms, and black trainers and was carrying a small bag on his back.
The television was a flat screen Technika 22 inch set.
PC Colin Hughes said: “This was a nasty incident which could have resulted with a serious injury. I’m appealing for anyone who may have been in the store at the time, and who may have witnessed the incident to cast their minds back to that day and contact us immediately.”
Enquiries are ongoing and CCTV footage is being investigated.
