Next week staff from 16 Brains pubs throughout Wales will be taking on Wales’ highest mountain. On Wednesday 7th October the team of managers and head office staff will be hiking up mount Snowdon in a bid to raise thousands for good causes.
But there won’t be time to rest at the top. The managers, along with Brains’ head office staff, will be holding their monthly area meeting at the summit.
Business aside, the main purpose of the climb is to fundraise for the individual charities the pubs support. Each pub has nominated a charity in their own area, ranging from the RNLI to Ty Hafan hospice.
Philip Lay, Retail Director at Brains, is also taking part in the climb. He explains: "Every year our pubs raise tens of thousands for good causes. This climb gives them the opportunity to generate extra funds and help give even more back to the community they operate in. It’s also a great opportunity to bring our team together to celebrate a good year for our hotels and pubs with rooms."
Pubs taking part in the Climb
The Bull (Llangefni), Churchills Hotel (Cardiff), the Dovey Inn (Aberdovey), Ferry Inn (St Dogmaels), Grove Hotel (St David’s), Harbour Inn (Solva), Lord Nelson (Milford Haven), Monachty (Aberaeron), Penhelig (Aberdovey), Penwig (Newquay), Savoy Country Inn (St Clears), Ship Inn (Tresaith), Thomas Arms (Llanelli), Twelve Knights (Port Talbot), The Wellington (Brecon) and White Lion Royal Hotel (Bala).
