Under 17s last gasp equaliser sets up tilt at top spot

The Wales Under 17 team drew 2-2 with Bosnia-Herzegovina at Stebonheath Park, Llanelli last night in the second of the UEFA Qualifying matches.

Just as in the opening game for Wales with Iceland on Monday, the first half was goal-less, but things sprang in to action after only three minutes of the restart when Richard Peniket netted for Wales.

Bosnia-Herzegovina, who had had much of the first half possession struck back in only five minutes with a well taken equaliser, then took the lead on 63 minutes.

Wales threw everything at the visitors for the last fifteen minutes and were rewarded when James Loverdige scored on the stroke of the final whistle.

A very entertaining game, and with Russia and Iceland drawing 1-1 in the other game, now gives Wales the chance to take one of the top two spots on Saturday with the final game with Russia.

That will be at Bridge Meadow, Haverfordwest. Kick off is at 3pm. Adults £3, Juveniles £1.
