Didn't They Do Well

The Chairman of Pembrokeshire County Council, Councillor Anne Hughes, has congratulated a special group of County gymnasts.

The 11-strong squad represented Wales at the recent Special Olympics in Leicester.

They returned from the championships with a winning haul of 13 Golds, 12 Silver and 15 Bronze medals.

Gymnasts Adele Bevan, Leah Scott, Victoria Walters, Emma Martin, Rhianne Cole, Jemma Bowie-Hallam, Jamie Bevan, Marcus James, Darren Briggs, Ryan Foot and Andrew Martin come from all over Pembrokeshire and took part in a range of competitive disciplines at Leicester.

To mark their achievement Councillor Hughes paid a visit to their training club in Milford Haven to congratulate them in person.

"These young gymnasts are a credit to our County and Wales and proof that hard work and effort pays off" she said. "We in Pembrokeshire are very proud of them."

The gymnasts are all members of the Pembrokeshire Special Needs Gymnastic Club and travel to Cardiff once a month for Welsh squad training.
