Little Joseph Tingle had big fun when he left the Big Bite as the winner of a Big Bear!
The seven-year-old from Trealaw bought a strip of raffle tickets at the Council event in Ynysangharad Park to help raise money for the Mayor’s Charity Appeal.
He was delighted to receive a call from the Rhondda Cynon Taf Council Events Team, who organise the Big Bite, informing him he had won the prize of a giant teddy bear.
Joseph, of Brithweunydd Road, could hardly wait to travel to Clydach Vale to meet Mayor Cllr Robert Smith, who presented him with the bear.
Cllr Smith said: “The Big Bite was, as always, a huge success and it was good to see so many people turn out, despite the weather, to enjoy the day and show their support.
“It was especially pleasing to see people dig deep and buy raffle tickets in aid of my charity appeal and I was delighted to meet Joseph this week and present him with his bear.
“Unfortunately it was raining, again, when we met at Clydach Vale, so we held the presentation in the Council Chambers and Joseph had great fun jumping all over the bear, which is bigger than he is!”
All proceeds from the raffle will be donated to the Mayor’s Charity Appeal, which this year is supporting Help for Heroes, Diabetes UK (Cymru) and Macmillan Cancer Support.
