Celebrating National Older People’s Day

The National Older People’s Day will be celebrated here in Gwynedd with a special gathering at Porthmadog.

The Gwynedd Older People’s Council will hold its annual conference on Thursday, 1 October, which is the day that communities tthe world over will celebrate older people’s contribution to our everyday lives.

The conference will be held at Glaslyn Leisure Centre, Porthmadog, starting at 10am. There will be a break at 12.30pm for lunch followed by an opportunity for people to view the various information stalls at the event.

The conference has been organised by Gwynedd Council in conjunction with the Gwynedd Community Safety Partnership, and the theme this year will be safety.

There will be a presentation on food safety and a question and answeres session with North Wales Police. There will also be an opportunity to find out what work the Older People’s Council has completed over the last 12 months.

There is a warm welcome to all for a chance to learn and socialise.
