Flint assault: Appeal for witnesses

North Wales Police are appealing for witnesses and information after a man was assaulted outside a hotel in Flint last month.

At approx. 00:15hrs on Saturday 8th August, a man was assaulted whilst stood outside the Ship Hotel on Market Square, whereby he was punched to his face.

The 24-year-old managed to run towards the direction of the train station where he was followed by the two offenders. He was further assaulted at the bottom of the railway footpath that crosses the railway line.

Both offenders are then believed to have returned to the Market Square area.

One of the offenders is described as being white, about 5ft 11 inches tall and of skinny build. He was aged between 18 and 25-years-old and had dark cropped hair. He was wearing a dark tracksuit with white stripes down the arms, a white top underneath the jacket and white trainers.

The second man is described as being white, between 5ft 7 inches and 5ft 11 inches tall and of a muscular build. He was aged between 20 and 25-years-old with dark blonde short cropped hair. He was wearing a white short sleeved t-shirt, light coloured trousers and black shoes.

The 24-year-old later attended hospital where he was treated for serious facial injuries.

PC Rachel Roberts said: “From the CCTV footage available this incident appears to have been witnessed by a number of people. I urge anyone who was outside the hotel and who may have seen the assault to come forward.”
