Free exercise for over 50s in Haverfordwest

A free day of leisure, pleasure and fitness for the over 50s is on offer at the new Haverfordwest leisure centre on Thursday, October 1.

To celebrate United Nations Older Person's Day, Pembrokeshire County Council's Older Person's Strategy team has joined forces with the leisure centre to offer taster sessions of tai chi, gentle keep fit, yoga Aqua Fit, as well as massage, IT sessions and digital photography for those who want to take it easy

Booking is recommended for some of the activities. Ring 01437 776676.

Also available on the day will be numerous exhibitors providing information and advice on pensions, tax benefits, employment, volunteering, carers, aids and adaptations, and home safety.

Pembrokeshire County Council Cabinet Member for Adult Services and Care, David Wildman said: "The Pembrokeshire 50+ forum is the active voice of all citizens aged 50 and over in Pembrokeshire.

"This is a great opportunity to come along and meet the team."

The event is being supported by the Pembrokeshire 50+ Forum and the Keep Well This Winter partnership.

The fun starts at 10 am when it will be opened by County Council Leader, John Davies. Events continue until 4pm.

  1. I teach a not for profit tai chi class near Pelcomb Cross for the over fifties, with special consideration given to sufferers from arthritis and similar conditions. Would there be space for a small poster and some flyers at your free day? I would love to attend but shall be at my own lesson in the morning. When does your day finish? My tel is 01437 710384, email suem@abelgratis.co.uk
