Police appeal after attack on Chepstow woman

Gwent Police is appealing for information following an assault that occurred in the early hours of this morning, Sunday, September 20, 2009.

Between 1am and 1.45am a 30-year-old female was walking along Denbigh Road in the vicinity of the Old Farm Shopping Centre in Bulwark, Chepstow.

She was approached by a man from behind, punched to the face and pushed to the ground. After a struggle the man then made off from the scene.

The female was left with minor facial injuries.

The man is described as approximately 6 feet tall, of stocky build and approximately 30 years old. He had dark/olive skin with short black hair and stubble. He spoke with a foreign accent and was wearing a graphite grey zip-up hooded jumper and dark trousers.

Police are appealing for anyone who was in the area at the time who may have witnessed the incident or seen the defendant before or after the assault to contact them on 01633 838111 or crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
