Get a taste of Autumn

Help celebrate Haverfordwest Farmers Market's 10th birthday at this year's Harvest Fayre on Friday (October 2nd).

The annual autumn fayre celebrates the best seasonal local produce as well as British Food Fortnight.

As well as a tempting choice of delicious local produce, there will be cookery demonstrations, recipe ideas and tastings - including the chance to sample freshly cooked ware from Chef John Quilter on his tour around UK Farmers Markets for UKTV.

Visitors will be able to explore the flavours and textures of British apples and pears and watch demonstrations of crab dressing and poultry preparation.

They can also join in a treasure hunt or take part in a quiz and test their knowledge of herbs.

There will be gardening workshops on autumn planting and winter maintenance, as well as information on recycling and composting, while Health Challenge Pembrokeshire is hosting a stall with tips on how to achieve a healthy lifestyle.

The Harvest Fayre takes place on Friday October 2nd at Riverside Shopping with stalls open from 9am to 3pm. Cookery demonstrations start from 10.30am

The award-winning Haverfordwest Farmers Market, which is celebrating its 10th anniversary this year, is held every other Friday and is managed by Pembrokeshire County Council.

It was the FARMA Farmers Market of the Year and True Taste Gold Retail winner in 2005/6, a FARMA regional winner in 2006/7 and runner up in the FARMA rural Farmers Market of the Year this year.
