Oh la la !- Denbighshire children gear up for European celebration

Youngsters from Denbighshire schools will be joining pupils from across North East Wales in a celebration of European languages later this month.

Pupils from Ysgol Pen Barras (Ruthin), Ysgol Mair (Rhyl), Ysgol Caer Drewyn (Corwen), Ysgol Llanfair Dyffryn Clwyd, Ysgol Borthyn (
Ruthin) and Ysgol Dinas Bran (Llangollen) will be attending the European Day of Languages event at Clwyd Theatr Cymru, Mold on September 24 where they will join Europe Direct Llangollen to discover languages through a variety of interactive workshops, discussions and information stands.

The event will include a performance by the Whisper and Shout Theatre Company and a talk by award winning children's literature translation author Sarah Ardizzone.

The European Day of Languages aims to draw the public's attention to the importance of learning languages, raise awareness of all the languages spoken in Europe and encourage lifelong learning.

If you are interested in taking part or finding out how you can celebrate the day in your school, please contact Caroline Marston at Europe Direct, on 01978 861514.

  1. I hope that Esperanto won't be forgotten as people plan what to do on the day.

Esperanto is easy to learn and use.

    Take a look at www.esperanto.net
