Town of Abertillery wins top Blaenau Gwent in Bloom 2009 award

The four top awards for Blaenau Gwent in Bloom 2009 have been announced at the annual presentation ceremony in Ebbw Vale.

Winners were:

The Glyn Burchell Award (for outstanding contribution) – the late David George, for Bishop Street Allotments

The John Evans Cup (for innovation in schools) – Nantyglo Comprehensive

The Nantyglo Comprehensive School Cup – Glyncoed Special Needs Unit, Ebbw Vale

The Clay Jones Trophy (for best town) - Abertillery

Cups, trophies and certificates were also handed out to the winners of the 15 categories during the annual presentation at Beaufort Ballroom – 61 people and organisations were honoured.
