Denbighshire Council fights for closed rural post office

Denbighshire County Council is calling on the Post Office to re-open the Llanarmon yn Iâl branch at the earliest opportunity after being informed of its temporary closure.

In a letter to the council, the Post Office confirmed that the branch closed on October 20 on a temporary basis.

Councillor Sharon Frobisher, Cabinet Lead Member for Communities, said: "The village post office is invaluable in a rural area such as Llanarmon yn Iâl with the nearest post offices being approximately two miles away in Eryrys. Many people locally, such as the elderly, rely heavily on the services provided and the temporary closure will affect those living in the local community, albeit on a short term basis.

"The Post Office says that it is working to resume Post Office services at Llanarmon yn Iâl and we urge them to do so as soon as possible."
