A group of young people with disabilities enjoyed an action-packed half term by taking part in a ‘sports and play’ week at the Colcot Sports Centre in Barry.
Organised by the Vale of Glamorgan Council’s Disability Sport Wales officer Simon Jones, the week let children have a go at sports including karate, dodgeball, climbing, volleyball, archery and cricket.
Experienced coaches and volunteers were on hand to support Simon and give the children with either physical, sensory or learning difficulties a sporty week to remember. Simon said: "The week was a big success with children ranging in age from nine to 16 having a great time trying out a range of activities. I’d like to thank the local clubs for providing coaches and making half term a sporting success."
For further details about sporting activities for people with disabilities in the Vale please call Simon Jones on 01446 704728 or visit the council's sports and play.
