Pontypridd v Cardiff switched to Arms Park

The British and Irish Cup fixture between Pontypridd v Cardiff has been switched to Cardiff Arms Park (kick-off 7.15pm)

Severe rain in South Wales has forced the switch of venue. Pontypridd are riding high at the top of the Principality Premiership having lost just two of their eleven matches so far. Ponty have won their last six games since a 6-13 reversal to Newport on 22 September.

Pontypridd are unbeaten in their last 27 matches in all competitions at Sardis Road since Cardiff won there, 23-10, in the Premiership on 29 December 2007.

Cardiff have slipped to successive defeats in the Principality Premiership and now find themselves in 5th spot in the league table with a won 7, drawn 1, lost 4 record.

The two teams have already met this season in the Welsh Premiership with Ponty victorious 20-12 at the Arms Park on 31 October.

The British & Irish Cup, an exciting brand new tournament which is a collaboration between the RFU, IRFU, SRU and WRU, kicks off this coming weekend across England, Ireland, Scotland and Wales.

The innovative cross-border competition pits together the twelve RFU Championship teams with Ireland's three leading provinces, the top six finishers in the 2008/09 WRU Principality Premiership, along with the top two teams from the Scottish Hydro Premiership last season plus a Scotland Development team known as Gael Force.

The 24 teams are divided into four pools of six with each side meeting each other in its own pool once over five rounds between now and early March.

The four pool winners will then progress to the knockout semi-finals on the weekend of 24 April 2010 with the inaugural final being played on the weekend of 15 May 2010
