Your money your say in Ruthin

Ruthin residents and interested parties are being reminded of a special public meeting at Ysgol Brynhyfryd, Ruthin, on November 17 at 7pm to make a final decision on a new play facility for Cae Ddol.

Residents have been given the opportunity to put forward their proposals as part of a new Participatory Budget (PB) scheme to spend up to £25,000 on the new facility.

PB enables residents to have a direct say on what they would like to spend public money on. Although PB has been used in the county before - with smaller pots of money in St Asaph, Corwen and Rhuallt - this is the first time that Denbighshire County Council has used the PB process.

The PB Organiser is Bill Ellis-Jones, who works for the charity Together Creating Communities and he will facilitate the process through to completion.

On the night, those attending will hear three minute presentations for each of the eleven proposals which have been put forward by members of the public and a vote will be taken – with the winner announced during the meeting.

Head of Leisure Services, Jamie Groves, said: “This is an exciting time for the future of Cae Ddol and we look forward to seeing which proposal is selected during the vote.”
