RNLI lifeguard Robyn Knibb treated a man with a head injury after he was accidentally hit with a golf club near Pendine beach earlier today (Thursday 27 August).
The man, believed to be in his 30s, was at the crazy golf course approximately 25 metres from the charity’s lifeguard unit when his 9-year old daughter swung her golf club hitting him above the eyebrow.
RNLI lifeguard Robyn Knibb, comments:
‘Soon after the man approached the lifeguard unit asking for his wound to be treated, he suddenly lost consciousness. He was out for approximately 2 minutes. He was then given oxygen and taken by land ambulance to hospital for further treatment.’
Carmarthen County Council currently funds the lifeguards, while the extensive training and equipment needed is provided by the RNLI.
