The Forest Education Initiative's Anglesey Cluster group is hoping to build on the success of previous years' events at Llanfaethlu and Holyhead.
The festival will boast a wide range of activities, held either in marquees or in the woodland, so there will be something fun to do whatever the weather. Activities include demonstrations by the Gwynedd Axe Racing team, chainsaw carving, drum workshops, music, den making, woodland games, face painting, a treasure hunt and many other workshops. Organisations from across north Wales will also be represented with refreshments will be available throughout the day.
The County Council's Coed Cymru Officer, Simon Hunt, chairs the Anglesey Cluster group and he explained: "Our main aims through the woodland festival is to increase the understanding and appreciation, particularly among children and young people, of the environmental, social, and economic potential of trees, woodlands and forests. During the festival, we will show them the many links which exist between trees and everyday wood products."
