Aberystwyth finally kick-started their campaign in style after claiming their first success of the season in Division Two.
It was billed as the basement battle against Pencoed at Plascrug but the home side proved too hot to handle on their way to a valuable 28-11 win.
The bonus-point success leaves the visitors rooted to the bottom of table and the only side not to have registered a victory.
But they were not alone in achieving lift-off on the fourth weekend of the season.
Mumbles also got their first points on the board with a 20-10 home win over Loughorw while Aberavon Quins gained a five-pointer in the 27-10 victory against Pontyberem.
Maesteg continued their early season form after running in three tries in their hard-fought 26-10 win at home to Ammanford.
In Division Three there were few problems for pacesetters Newcastle Emlyn who emerged victors in a ten-try, 43-32 thriller against Wales wing Leigh Halfpenny's local club Gorseinon or Morrison who won 38-3 at bottom club Llanybydder.
Tumble stormed past Pontarddulais 36-7 in the top of the table clash in Division Four while it was a pleasing day for their main challengers after narrow wins for Amman United, Cefneithin and Milford Haven.
