The Cardiff Against Bullying team need your help in recognising those who have helped others.
Do you know someone who has improved the life of anyone who has suffered bullying?. If so the Cardiff Against Bullying team would like to hear from you.
The team has launched the Inspire Awards to reward those, whose acts of kindness have made a difference to another person. Celebrating the children, young people or adults who have had the courage to stand up for and befriend others who have been bullied.
It’s easy to nominate someone who you feel has made a difference, simply visit the www.cardiffagainstbullying.co.uk website and click on Inspire Awards.
The closing date for entries is October 22 and nominations will be accepted from peers, teaching and non teaching staff as well as professionals who work alongside children and young people. Those nominated need to be Cardiff residents or employees who work in the city.
The successful nominees will be rewarded at the Inspire Awards which will take place on November 18 at Cardiff Castle.
Cardiff Council’s Leader, Cllr Rodney Berman, said: “I would like to thank the Cardiff against Bullying team for launching the Inspire Awards. It’s fantastic that the awards will celebrate those who have had the courage to stand up and help those who are suffering from bullying.
“The awards reinforce the message that bullying is unacceptable and I hope they will encourage others to help those who are being bullied.”
Executive Member for School’s and Lifelong learning, Cllr Freda Salway, said: “The Inspire awards are a great way of recognising those who help others. Bullying should not and will not be tolerated and the awards help to reiterate this message.”
