Hogging it for charity

After driving around most of Newport and Monmouthshire yesterday sniffing out stories for next week, a couple of the Welsh Icons' Newshounds popped into the Church House Inn, in St Brides Wentlooge.

We found them busily preparing for their Bank Holiday Monday Charity Spectacular which takes place today (Monday 31 August).

Events for the day include:

• Hog Roast
• Free Horse and Cart Rides
• Surf Simulator
• Bouncy Boxing
• Stalls and Games

All proceeds will be going to Kidney Research and Help for Heroes. They had even erected marquees so don't let the weather put you off.

Landlady's daughter Jo Prosser (pictured) told us:

"We are planning a fun day for all the family and trying to raise some money for the community. Come along and sample our hog roast and fine ales".
