Swansea's still in bloom

SWANSEA'S annual Botanics in Bloom festivities are now drawing to a close and people have a final chance to make a visit.

The event has run throughout August at the Singleton Botanic Gardens but the coming week offers the last opportunity to catch the award-winning attraction at its best and to enjoy the variety of available activities.

Guided tours, workshops, band concerts, children's activities and plant sales are all part of the fun.

Steve Hopkins, Swansea Council Specialist Parks Manager, said: "It's been a very busy month and we have had many visitors to the gardens.

"I'd urge anyone who hasn't been down already to come along and experience the gardens in all their glory before the summer is out and to enjoy the final week of activities."

Singleton Botanical Gardens are open all year round and admission is free. Coach and group visits are welcome by prior arrangement.

Botanics in Bloom is part of the Swansea Bay Summer Festival.
