Special award for Sprake at FAW ceremony

Gary Sprake, the former Leeds United and Wales goalkeeper, was the winner of a special award at the Football Association of Wales SA Brains Football Awards Evening at the Cardiff City Stadium last night.

The awards were made as follows:

Player of the Year - Ashley Williams

Young Player of the Year - Aaron Ramsey

Club Player of the Year - Ashley Williams

Special Award - Gary Sprake (ex-Leeds United and Wales goalkeeper 1964-1974)

Special Award - Ken Jones (ex-Wales 1958 World Cup Squad goalkeeper)

The speaker was Joey Jones, former Wrexham, Liverpool and Wales full back.
