Top chef Geoff Tookey will entertain visitors to this weekend's Rhondda Cynon Taf County Show, when he hosts cookery demonstrations.
Fresh from a successful visit to the Big Welsh Bite food festival in Pontypridd earlier this month, Geoff will again cook up some treats at the County Show at Rhondda Sports Centre, Ystrad, on Sunday, August 30, 2009.
During the day, beautiful blooms, colourful crafts, fruit and veg and wines produced by local people will go on display. All are welcome to go along to the free event and view entries in more than 140 gardening and craft competition categories, with a total of more than £2,000 in prize money on offer for the winning entries.
Competition categories this year include open veg, open flower, roses, chrysanthemums, floral art, open culinary, home-made wine and photography. There are special children's sections, with prizes in a number of categories including best hand-drawn picture and best animal made from recyclable materials.
The Welsh National Dahlia Show will also be hosted during the weekend, and there will be a craft fayre. The County Show is open from 1pm-5pm and admission is free.
