County's Benefits Team makes final four in industry award

Denbighshire County Council’s benefits team has made it to the final four in the running for a prestigious accolade.

The team has been named finalist for the Institute of Revenues, Rating and Valuation (IRRV) Benefits Team of the Year award. The others are Crawley Borough Council, South Norfolk District Council and Waltham Forest London Borough Council.

The final four were chosen following an inspection by officials from the Institute. The original submission and additional information provided in advance of the formal inspections was also taken into consideration.

The winner will be announced at a national conference in October.

Councillor Julian Thompson-Hill, Cabinet Lead Member for Finance, said: "I am delighted that the Benefits Team has made the final in this prestigious award category and making the final four is a testament to the hard work and dedication of the Benefits Team to offering the best possible service to the people of Denbighshire.

"The panel is looking for organisations to demonstrate that they are raising the standards of service to achieve high levels of performance, customer satisfaction and effective administrative procedures in all aspects of benefits. There will need to be evidence of excellence in delivery and a customer focused service.

"We will be keeping our fingers crossed that the award will be coming to Denbighshire."
