Further to our story last week on the Newport Tardis, David Rybould has told us:
"Well, here's update one, and I'm happy to say it's all good news thus far. The Box has been professionally surveyed by the council, who are looking at a couple of civil engineering firms to help them restore it. I've given them the contact details of the company that restored the Crich Box so well, along with their website. It looks like someone's had a really good go at vandalising the box, or it's been hit by a vehicle, leaving it in quite a bad state.
"The very nice gentleman I spoke to at Newport Council seems very positive and sure that the box WILL be repaired and restored, and they're working with local group the "Rascals" to help secure funding for the project as well. If anyone wants to donate towards the box's refurbishment, then put up a post saying so and I'll get something organised with the council for that purpose.
"Thus far, it is looking very promising and I'm heartened by the council's openness and resolve to get the box back it's former glory."
