Potential school closures - consultation

Parents will have a chance to discuss the possible closure of Llanover and Govilon Primary Schools at public meetings this month.

On 24th June 2009, Monmouthshire County Council’s Cabinet decided to begin a formal statutory consultation period on the possible closure of Govilon and Llanover Primary Schools.

The consultation period began 2nd September and will end on 16th October 2009.

Trades unions, local councils and other interested parties will also be consulted.

Public meetings for parents, neighbours and any other interested members of the public will be held at 6pm at:

• Llanover Primary School on 14th September 2009
• Govilon Primary School on 15th September 2009

A meeting for other affected schools will be held at Llanfoist Fawr Primary School on 16th September 2009 at 4.30pm.
