OUR friends across the pond are hosting the Left Coast Eisteddfod, a Welsh-American Performing Arts festival in Portland, Oregon this weekend.
This year's event includes:
A separately ticketed Friday night rock concert feauturing local Portland bands, Jesus Presley, Western Aerial, Runaway Norm and the SlimJims, tickets from ticketmaster.com
A separately ticketed Saturday evening concert will be held on 22nd August 2009, with BBC Radio Wales' Chris Needs, acclaimed tenor Bruce Anderson, Portland singer-songwriter Tyler StensonOceans Apart, tickets again available from ticketmaster.com
Other events include a daytime Welsh Market on August 21 and 22, with entertainment and children's activities from 10am to 5pm; an afternoon literary salon with Welsh authors Niall Griffiths and Chris Keil; the US premeir of two films from Wales; a Welsh language seminar and much more.
