Win £500 Art Shopping Spree

HELFA Gelf/Art Trail has £500-worth of art up for grabs during its annual North Wales Open Studio event this September.

Organisers are running a prize draw for art from this year’s art trail. For the last three weekends in September, 112 artists from all over North Wales open their studios to the public to show how they create their work.

All you have to do to enter the competition is go to at least 3 studios on this year’s trail and collect 3 different codes from the artists. Then it’s a question of compiling your shopping list!

There are painters, sculptors, print-makers, ceramicists, textile designers, lace makers, basket weavers, photographers and glass artists - to name but a few - taking part, so there really should be something to suit every taste.

This is a unique opportunity to maybe commission a portrait or own a bespoke range of pottery. To start a collection is something a lot of art enthusiasts would love to do but don’t have the means. Once you have your codes and wish list you simply enter the prize draw on-line. The winner will be chosen at random from all participants.

“We wanted to give people a different perspective on the art while going to look at the studios. Too often arts and crafts are seen as something that is unreachable for the general public.

I have often seen pieces that I would love to own, but that are simply way beyond what I can afford. This is a fantastic chance for an art lover to actually take that coveted piece home!”
