Spooky City Centre treat for Halloween

Swansea City Centre will be hosting a special Halloween event on Saturday, October 31.

Plymouth Street, between Wilkinsons and Café Palazzo will be a hive of Halloween fun for all ages.

Swansea Council and the Welsh Assembly has teamed up with the Wave and Swansea Sound who will broadcast live from the event from 10am to 2pm as part of their ongoing Love your city campaign.

Children's entertainment will include everything from wizardry to face painting.
Spooky dance performances by the Mark Jermin Stage School will also add to the atmosphere and there will be handouts of all sorts of Hallloween treats.

A special competition will see one lucky winner fitted out with a full Halloween costume compliments of Mardi Gras on Plymouth Street.

The aim of the event to is to help shoppers get into the Halloween spirit and encourage people to check out the fantastic range of unique purchases and tempting cuisine available from the independent traders and café owners in the area.

Event organiser Daniel Jones, City Centre Team Leader, said:

"The vibrant and bustling independent traders on Plymouth Street, Nelson Street and Lower Oxford Street already make a visit to the area a must for people coming into Swansea's City Centre, however, with the Wave and Swansea Sound's Halloween live broadcast coming from there, there's even more reason to come along and be bewitched by the great offer".

Mark Jermin owner of The Mark Jermin Stage School who will be helping to supply the entertainment added:

"We are very excited to be involved in this event. Swansea City Centre gives us a fantastic platform to perform in front of a local audience. All our dancers will be turning up in Halloween costumes and will be putting on a fantastic show".
