Affordable Housing for Local People

Do you wish to purchase a home in your community but cannot afford to do so? Were you aware that Denbighshire has an Affordable Housing waiting list?

Denbighshire County Council has a policy in place which aims to ensure that 30% of any developments of 3 homes or more are made affordable, with first refusal going to members of the local community who have lived or work in the community for a minimum of 5 years.

This would allow a person to purchase a share of a home or for less than the market value. A Section 106 legal agreement is placed on these properties which will ensure the future affordability for the benefit of the local community need.

In Denbighshire a Low Cost Home Ownership register exists for this reason. If you wish to take advantage on this opportunity to try and secure an affordable home in your community it is very important that you are on this register.

The register is administered by Cymdeithas Tai Clwyd and anyone interested in registering should contact the Affordable Housing Team on 0345 230 3140 or affordablehomes@taiclwyd.com.

It is important that you do register otherwise it will not be possible to be considered if an Affordable Home is made available in your community.

For further information please contact SiƓn Wynne or Maureen Lee at Denbighshire County on 01824 712282 or 01824 712932 or Eleri Davies or Gwenan Jones at Cymdeithas Tai Clwyd on 0345 230 3140.
