Council Steers to Sucess

Pembrokeshire County Council has won a major community transport award.

The Authority won the Partner of the Year award from the Community Transport Association Wales.

The award was presented to the Council at the organisation's conference in Llandudno recently.

Pembrokeshire, which beat off stiff competition from a number of other local authorities and organisations, was singled out for the work and support it provides to the community transport sector across the County.

The Council was also commended for introducing a number of innovative community transport schemes in partnership with the voluntary sector.

Margaret Vickery, a Pembrokeshire Country Car Organiser and Driver, was also shortlisted for the Volunteer of the Year award but narrowly missed out to a volunteer from Monmouthshire.
