Denbighshire youngsters are in the swim

The Denbighshire Swim Team was confirmed as the best in North Wales and narrowly missed out on taking the Welsh National League Title at the finals held in Newport recently.

Some of the best swimmers from across Denbighshire travelled south to take on teams from Swansea, Cardiff, Pontypool, Flintshire, Conwy, and Bangor. The Denbighshire team of 32 boys and girls had qualified for the final and knocked out last year’s winners on the way.

The final consisted of individual and relay events. Denbighshire’s start was steady, with many of our swimmers attaining personal best times. From midway through the competition, it was a two horse race as Denbighshire was the only team who could compete with the Swansea squad.

Thanks must go to Denbighshire Leisure Services and their officers for their support and encouragement. Thanks also to Denbigh, Rhyl and Ruthin swimming clubs, their coaches, parents, and of course, all the swimmers from the three clubs.
