Two LifeStyle gym instructors from Barry Leisure Centre have led by example by completing a gruelling charity cycling challenge to mark Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
Donna Rees and Sarah Murphy raised over £650 after spending a whole day riding Trixter x-bikes in the gym. They completed two stints of non-stop cycling for a total of seven and a half hours, including three-minute standing climbs every hour to really get their legs working! If that wasn’t enough, they finished the day by leading an hour-long class in the Trixter suite.
Customers were generous with their donations to support the cause and the fundraising was boosted further by collections at fitness classes and on the gate at the Vale of Glamorgan Council’s Civic Offices.
October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and the ladies’ charity challenge has helped raise vital funds for Cancer Research UK’s life-saving work. For further details please visit www.cancerresearchuk.org/breastcancer.
