Mountain rescue near Mold

A 27 year old local man was rescued from a quarry ledge at Eryrys, near Mold this morning (Saturday October 3) following an operation involving the North Wales Police and RAF Squadron 22 helicopters.

North Wales Police received a call at 08:43am from the Ambulance Service Control reporting an injured male who had called for help from a disused quarry ledge at Eryrys.

Due to the inaccessibility of the location, the North Wales Police and RAF Squadron 22 helicopters were scrambled, as well as the North East Wales Mountain Rescue Team.

The man was treated by paramedics at the scene, and airlifted to The Countess of Chester Hospital, where he is in a serious and critical condition.
