Talysarn Bike Safety Day

Residents in and around Talysarn in Gwynedd are being invited to attend a special bike safety day being held by North Wales Police.

Members of the local Neighbourhood Policing Team will be at the Community Centre this Thursday (29th October) between 2 and 4pm, and everyone is welcome to come along to have their bicycles marked and obtain information on how to stay safe on the roads.

A number of UV pens, which have been funded through PACT (Police and Community Trust) will be also be distributed free of charge, and a local cycle repair man from Cyclewales.net will be in attendance to check the safety of the bikes.

PCSO Julie Holland said: “With the evenings getting darker it’s really important that cyclists stay safe on the roads.

“We encourage all local residents to attend to have their bicycles marked with their postcode. This means that if their bike is ever stolen and later recovered, we have a better chance of re-uniting the property with their rightful owner.”

Leaflets will also be handed out by Gwynedd Council. If you are unable to attend on the day, but wish to discuss crime prevention with an officer, please contact the local Neighbourhood Policing Team on 101, or 0845 607 1001 (Welsh line) or 0845 607 1002 (English line).

Contact details for individual CBM’s and PCSO’s are available via the North Wales Police website – www.north-wales.police.uk
