With this in mind, Gwynedd Council’s Archives Service has arranged a series of taster sessions which will give people advice about how to start trace family history will prove very popular.
The one day courses which will be held at the Caernarfon Record Office and Meirionnydd Record Office will be led by the Council’s staff which will give advice on how to set about tracing your family history. Those attending the courses will have an opportunity to look at the various sources and evidence, as well as a chance to ask the archivists any questions which might be of use in getting started will tracing their family tree.
Day courses are to be held on “Tracing Your Family History” in the Meirionnydd Record Office, Dolgellau on the following dates:
- A one-day Family History Course (English) on Saturday, 12 December 2009 at Meirionnydd Record Office staring at 10.30am
- A one-day Family History Course (Welsh) on Saturday, 16 December 2009 at Meirionnydd Record Office staring at 10.30am
- A one-day Family History Course (Welsh) on Saturday, 16 January 2010 at Caernarfon Record Office starting at 10.30am
- A one-day Family History Course (English) on Monday, 18 January 2010 at Caernarfon Record Office starting at 10.30am
The courses will be held on the following dates:
- Introductory Course: What is in your local record office? (Welsh course) at Caernarfon Record Office from 10am to 12pm on Saturday, 30 January 2010
- Introductory Course: What is in your local record office? (English course) at Caernarfon Record Office from 2pm to 4pm on Saturday, 30 January 2010
