X factor star to perform for Mayor

X Factor finalist James Williams is holding a one-off charity performance for Rhondda Cynon Taf’s Mayor.

Cllr Robert Smith is delighted to have secured the talents of the Tonteg performer for the Buble And Beyond concert at the Rhondda Heritage Park on October 24.

James, a former YG Rhydyfelen pupil will perform a wide variety of songs to suit all tastes and interests, including popular hits by Canadian star Buble.

He is set to thrill the audiences in the same way as he did at Ponty’s Big Weekend last month, singing classic well-known songs and modern favourites including the Scissor Sisters.

All proceeds from the one-off event, tickets for which are on sale now, will be donated to the Mayor’s chosen charities of Diabetes UK (Cymru), Macmillan Cancer Support and Help for Heroes.

Many people will remember with pride James’s performance on the last series of the X Factor, when he became the last Welsh person in the massive talent competition.

James, then 26, was selected from thousands of male solo artists by judge Danni Minogue to spend time with her in St Tropez, South of France and take part in the final selection for the X Factor live finals.
